If so, are there many inexpensive pansiyons to stay in Girne/Kyrenia? Ideally, I would like to stay in Karakoy (or is it Karaman?) but that's probably out of my budget. Last question, is it easy to find a place to rent a motorbike for a day or two? Thanxx.

Hi
Yes its easy to cross the line into the North, you'll need your passport. There are many places you can stay, especially around this time of year. There are a couple of places near to Karaman. You have the Hideaway at Edrimet which is situated half way up the hill to Karaman, St Hilarion Holiday Village, this is just as you enter the village, Karaman, or there are a couple just before the turning to Edrimet on the sea front. Both of the ones I have mentioned are reasonably cheap and cheerful. They are both featured in the holiday brochures for N.Cyprus so should be easy to find.
You'll find it more difficult to rent a motorbike. At this time of year a car will cost around £10 per day inclusive of insurance Or you can always bring a car over from the South but you'll need to purchase insurance as you cross the line though.
