After a long meeting with Jackie at Lynx I have the following update:
The payment of the float will now include buildings and earthquake insurance (once the float has been paid). It is not expected that the float will need to be topped up in the first year (this is very welcome news). Water meters are due to be fitted next week. Materials are currently being delivered on site (yesterday) this looks like the hardcore for the landscaping (hurray) they plan to start the irrigation system followed by the landscaping this weekend. The water deposit £495 is to be collected by Lynx on Evergreens behalf, the purpose of this is so that anyone who does not pay for the water they use can have it deducted from the £495. Seems fair enough I suppose. We now have a large refuse bin on site (car park) Lynx have arranged to have it emptied each Friday. Lynx have asked Extend broadband to quote for a communal internet service - negotiations are continuing. I think all of this is fantastic news, things are really happening now. I feel comfortable with the above and have also signed the modified maintanance agreement. Looking forward to seeing and meeting old friends and new very soon. Paul

Hi Lee and Karen,
Not sure mate, maybe give Lynx a call and ask what the plans are? We are struggling with the heat now, but it's a lovely time, things starting to happen. Take care

Hi Paul
Thanks for the info, things appear to be coming together at last, and it is all very welcome news. The only thing that worries me, I have emailed Jackie at Lynx four times now since we returned home, and not had a single reply. |

I have seen some emails from Jackie and responded to them all but still waiting for a response to my last requests. Judging by what's going on I am assuming that she is busy (very). One of them was about the Lynx offer for property management services which I was very interested in - anybody else got that?
Best Nigel |

Received an email from Jackie at Lynx with revised contract yesterday, we are now happy to proceed and will arrange transfer of fees.
Paul, don't get too suntanned before we arrive or I will have to change my name to pale face! Regards Andrew

Hi all,
I will try to address the issues in one go here, as working on my tan is really time consuming, some people cram it into a week or two, but some of us have work to do (andrew). lol. Ok water irrigation system now in place on Blue Bay, plants looking good. Also the sea stone around the pools there have dramatically improved things. All in all it is looking much better. A 2 person jacuzzi has also arrived on site and is awaiting fitting, it is a very attractive tub. The pools are extremely clean and the water very warm now, bet you all can't wait to get over now! It will be great to see you all as soon as you can get over. Crystal Bay View - the fencing has arrived, it is wire mesh approx 5ft in height, not very attractive but it will keep the cows off site and when planting matures hopefully will not look too bad. The landscaping/irrigation is due to begin this weekend. WE struggle to keep the pool nice on this site as the leaves from the trees causes huge problems and the less sheltered position means the dust is a problem too. There are some ongoing problems with the pool and jacuzzi, Lynx are working hard to work this out with Evergreen as the problems were inherited from construction. Lynx and Richard Bryant (0208 1337077) provide property management and key holder services and services can be tailored to meet all of your needs. I would hope that everyone would be offered the amendments made to the latest maintenance contract, maybe the way forward is for those who signed previously to ask for the amendments to be made, it's worth a try. I think that about covers it, must get back to the pool now. Best wishes everyone, looking forward to seeing you all soon. Paul

Paul,
Thans for the update, it's a shame E'green didn't change their mind about a wall instead of a fence, hope it won't look too much like a concentration camp! It looks like we will see lots of progres on our next trip over, and can't wait to get there. Reserve me a space by the pool to get the optimum amount of sun, it sounds like I've got alot of catching up to do! Just on my way to the 'office', hope the girls haven't got the air con set too high. It's pretty miserable here, rain, rain and more rain. Regards Andrew |
