N4ME the acapulco is a fine hotel we stayed there in feb. although they state its a five star its not, it appears some hotels in northern cyprus rate themselves and the said one falls into that group its a three star or four at most. its in a great location and as great facilitys but many of these were shut due to it being middle of winter when we were there.its also expensive you will pay two to three times more for a pint of beer for example. the rooms are lovely but tv doesnt have a single english language chanel yet all over the hotel signs are in english work that one out! its also surounded by a turkish military base. but if you have kids they will love it. another hotel that i can highly recomend is the vuni palace just outside kyrenia regards andrew

why does everyone get excited when new pictures appear to me the properties get to where the next payment is due and then stop!!! how many are finshed? what about those expecting Phase 1 completion? the front line bungalows have barely changed in months. Who was expecting to move in in May and be able to use the pool? I guess there were severe delays last summer which delayed much of the construction, due to the heat and lack of water and perhaps the same will happen this summer. Presemably if they have to bring water in by the truck and fill those plastic tanks it is expensive. It looks as if they are moving on with the apartments, more money comes in then they move onto another block or the next phase. I am going out next wed and will look at my plot but nothing has happened in a month, I guess we must be patient I will take photos but not sure they will show much more than we already see. I dont envisage site completion until mid winter 08/09

- Individual satellite: where each property is allowed to put it?
- generator: only common parts are covered? what about inside property? - animals: what is allowed and what not? Insurances? - maintenance company agreement: any draft? |

I am assuming you are also bermuda as per the posting on C44. All these issues you have raised will have to be resolved by the owners. That is what Moira and Keith were organising. I think if you ask Davidoff she has all the details. The generator is a back up for communal facilities only should there be a power cut for any reason. The site will be run by the owners for the owners and will have to have a full committee etc. that is the only way it will be possible to work it I think. The cost and infrastructure involved apparently for the communal satellite was to much but apparently I believe an 80cm dish will work and I'm pretty sure that you could link an apartment block of 1 or 2 dishes |
|
|||
Hi all,The one dish system is a no go now as I mentioned before as it is too costly! But the apartment blocks have void roof space in them allocated for dishes so you will not see them! Villas and bungalows are having them installed on the sides of the properties rather than on the roof -also the dishes are only 60cm instead of the 1.5 metre dishes we was lead to believe that may have been needed! The maintenance company is to be run by swb for 6 months after completion and then it is up to the RA to decide and organise who will run the site thereafter!! Thats why setting up a RA is vital as otherwise after the 6 month period we may well be left on our own ?? To look after the site etc?? Construction on the site does seem to be happening very fast and deadlines will always be missed -whereever you are or whatever your doing especially in the construction industry Im afraid!! The backup generator on site is for communal facilities only and not for the individual units as the system they have installed cannot cope with the backup for the whole complex!! Take care all-D

when I was last in NC (Jan 07) my orange mobile service was less than useless on roaming it told me there were two local networks but orange did not allow me to connect with the one that worked only one network with very poor coverage. Orange paid me some compensation and said it was my handset rather than their network but did pay me some compensation when I claimed. I have just checked the Orange web site and it states that with my brand new phone ethere is no orange service in NC. Has anyone else experienced problems with orange and can anyone recommend a UK provider who has a decent roaming arrangement in NC?
