Hi Guys and Gals I cant get into the Cyprus 44 forum at the moment are any others having problems? or is that so that the owner can keep his advertise ment at number 1 on the list for a while or is it because I have an IT problem? The new private forum is fine for private stuff but to have to key in an additional password is frustrating some of us dont have the time or the memory. To be honest there are several moans and groans about £1000 and if this payment means better quality finish for the development and longevity of the installations I have to say lets pay up do we want to risk sub quality installations? a thousand pounds is a lot of money but against the total investment it is not too significant its only about 12 tanks of diesel when you are filling up your car(well it does in mine)..so lets take the heat out of this and lets spread positive news do you want to damage your investment...I dont. There again I have not had a letter so I have not seen the detail I am Phase 3 who would want to be in Phase One or even A & D moving onto a bulding site is going to cause many upsets even without the continuing dust clouds- there are the lorries and deliveries...come on you baywatchers be positive on public forums you may put off a buyer for your own property in the future ..and keep the values lower

Rocky - I got onto Cyprus44 today with no problems.
When I go onto the SWB private forum, I ticked a box 'remember me' and it goes straight to our bit with no password needed. I don't know if this will be permanent but it's straight there at the moment. I've not had an infrastructure letter and I haven't looked on my contract yet to see whether it's in there but we need to know if the money is REALLY being spent on the infrastructure and not going straight into the profits pocket. It does make a big difference. I'm not suggesting we do at this stage but if the money is really being spent on improvements and quality infrastructure ie gym equipment, communal furniture, beach etc. maybe we should all think about contributing so that the £1000 is reduced to a manageable amount per owner. We don't want inferior quality purchased to save money. We need a complete breakdown of where the money is going. What does anybody else think ! |

Come on Baywatchers you are all very quiet, Loby I could not get the rocky name on the private SWB site they prefered me to use a celebrity name. You suggested lassie in a recent message so I grabbed that. Well its getting late now must have my bonio and get into my basketo.

I mentioned this somewhere else, the sports courts will be in that area but it still looks like quite a large bit of land is available.
I read that building can't take place within 50 metres of a ravine but I don't know if this is true. Once SWB is finished it won't be very nice if building then starts on this land with all the mess that that entails. Plus the view of the mountains would be affected. I also read on a forum that one of the Seaterra sites has put sand on their beach!! |

Hi Baywatchers do you remember earlier this year or even last some were getting their knickers in a twist because they wanted a freshwater pool. With the water shortages on cyprus which one assumes will get worse perhaps the only choice is seawater. When I owned a holiday home in Spain we looked at a changeover to sea water after all there is plenty of it whereas fresh water or the lack of it wil probably mean a ban on using fresh water for gardens or pools. Should we prepare for sea water now and get plenty of buckets so the permanent residents can keep it topped up???? I dont think Loby.' baggy trousers will work though!

Hey Rocky, it looks like only you and me are using this site now, have you frightened everybody off by saying Michael Jacksons moving in?
I was getting worried, I was starting to agree with most things you posted but definitely not about the communal pool being saltwater. You rich people with your own pools can make your own decisions but the communal pool MUST be freshwater otherwise my wife wouldn't use it, along with a lot of other people I guess. Rocky, you being an ex bank manager have you answered my question about internet banking on cyprus44 ? |

Hi Loby need to look into this myself and have not seen your question yet but am away on business this week so catch up later. Have set up a current account and a deposit account (14% interect TL Ac) when there in April but they take a few weeks to issue cards so one has to e mail a few weeks b4 you go out to collect cards and info at the bank, obviously you cannot do this until you have set up account so if you have not done this do it next time you are out. Edith will give you a name at Garanti and dont go to any bank early I went in about 1115am and all sorted in about 30 mins.. They will not send anything to UK also they need to see passports etc for identity. They need a Cyprus address so could only quote plot no and SWB and Tatlisu Other posts suggest that Internet banking is fine with Garanti and HSBC but not sure yet how to set it up. I guess we need passwords from the bank which I will request B4 my next trip later in the year.

My question was about depositing money into the high interest accounts online.
I've already got my accounts set up and internet access but couldn't put money into the big one just into the low interest accounts. It's been answered now on cyprus44 and by my bank but it involves some jiggery pokery and it doesn't sound too easy peasy. |

Could anyone tell us about the extra costs being talked about at Sweetwater bay?
We are in the process of buying 133 penthouse right and having looked at the forum are a bit confused as to all these extra costs that are being mentioned. Does anyone have a clear view of what the total costs will be on handover? we havent got our contracts yet but would appreciate the views of current owners. I have emailed NMP and Edith but can anyone help in the meantime? Thank You Mary |

![]() Welcome to the forum. Read over your contract very carefully and if there is anything it it that you are not happy about get them to change it now before signing. Also make sure that your lawyer is completely independent from sweet water. The extra charges are for infrastructure ie water electric. Your contract will have this on it and you will be liable to pay for it. Make sure you have an amount stipulated for this on your contract. They are asking for £1000 at the moment. I have also had a costing for water and electric meters and connection charges. Reading about different developments and what they are getting charged for their utility connections Sweetwaters appear to be quite good. The gripe current owners have is that in the early contracts there was no mention of infrastructure charges therefore they are not happy at getting asked for this money as it is not in their contracts. Hope that helps a little |
